FairWell for Employers

When your people go through separation, they need more than time off.

Separation is one of the most disruptive life events an employee can face. The legal complexity, financial stress, and emotional load don't stop at the office door. FairWell gives your team a structured, confidential way to navigate it, without paying $400/hr for a lawyer they can't afford.

The gap in most benefits programs

EAP isn't enough for this.

Most Employee Assistance Programs offer a few sessions of counselling and a referral list. That's genuinely helpful for emotional support. But separation isn't just an emotional event, it's a legal and financial one, and most EAPs aren't built for that.

Your employee needs to understand what a separation agreement actually covers. They need to know what their financial disclosure obligations are. They need to figure out a parenting plan their ex will actually sign. These are concrete problems that require concrete tools, not a referral to a lawyer they can't afford.

FairWell fills the gap between emotional support and full legal representation. It gives employees a guided, structured process for handling the paperwork side of separation, with a lawyer review available when they want professional sign-off, at a fraction of the usual cost.

Productivity
Employees in the middle of contested or unresolved separations report difficulty concentrating, more errors, and longer task completion times. Access to clear guidance shortens the period of uncertainty.
Absenteeism
Court dates, lawyer meetings, and mediation sessions all happen during business hours. Documents that can be completed online, at their pace, reduce the number of days out of the office.
Retention and loyalty
Employees remember how their employer treated them at their worst moments. Adding meaningful support during a separation, without it being visible to HR, builds lasting loyalty.
Financial stress spillover
Separation is expensive. Employees who can access legal documents for $200–$500 instead of $5,000–$20,000 are under significantly less financial pressure, which shows up at work.
How it works

Simple setup. Fully confidential.

FairWell integrates with your benefits program without adding HR complexity. Employees access it privately, you never see what they're working on.

01

We issue your company a benefits code

Your employees use a unique discount code at checkout, or we set up a direct billing arrangement for larger organizations. No IT integration required.

02

Employees access FairWell independently

They visit FairWell directly, complete the guided assessment, and build their documents at their own pace. Everything is private, we don't share individual data with employers.

03

You receive aggregate reporting only

Quarterly, we share anonymised summary data: how many employees used the benefit and which services they accessed. No names, no details, just benefit utilisation metrics.

Employee privacy

What your HR team will never see.

Employees using FairWell through an employer benefit are the only ones who can see their documents, their sessions, and their personal information. This is non-negotiable, and it's also what makes the benefit actually usable.

People going through separation will not use a service their employer can monitor. If there's any doubt about confidentiality, they won't use it at all. We've built the privacy model specifically to make sure employees trust the service enough to benefit from it.

Employers receive only aggregate, anonymised data, nothing that could identify an individual.

  • 🔒
No individual employee data is shared with employers. Ever. This is a contractual commitment, not a policy that can be changed later.
  • 👤
Employees create their own accounts directly with FairWell, not through an employer-provisioned login. HR cannot access accounts.
  • 📊
Employer reporting shows only how many credits were used and which product categories were accessed, no names, no document details.
  • 🗑️
Employees can delete their account and all associated data at any time. This right exists regardless of the employer arrangement.
  • 🇨🇦
All data is stored in Canada and processed in accordance with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation. US employers: CCPA-compliant by default.
