FairWell is a document preparation service serving clients across Canada and the United States. References to "FairWell," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to FairWell and the platform at fairwell.ai.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

Professionals in our network

If you use our Lawyer Document Review service, your draft document is shared with the reviewing lawyer, who is bound by professional obligations of confidentiality.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of any person.

Your information is never shared with your former or current spouse or partner without your explicit written consent.

5. How long we keep your information

We retain your intake information and completed documents for three years from the date of your last interaction with us. After that, personal information is securely deleted unless law requires us to keep it longer.

You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing hello@fairwell.ai. Note that deletion may affect our ability to support your documents.

6. How we protect your information

We use TLS encryption for all data in transit, access controls limiting who can view your information, and hosting infrastructure with SOC 2 Type II certification (Netlify). We treat your data with the same care you would expect from a legal professional. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable step to protect yours.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Data is aggregated and anonymised. IP addresses are anonymised before being processed by Google. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any other third-party tracking.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Our intake forms collect information about children solely in the context of parenting and custody arrangements, and only from the parent or guardian using our service. If you believe a minor has submitted information directly, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. For significant changes, we will notify active clients by email. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
