Why this is needed

Most co-parenting communication tools are just messaging apps with a legal disclaimer.

They don't know your custody schedule. They don't know what counts as a section 7 expense. They don't know your parenting plan. So every conversation starts from zero, and every disagreement turns into a negotiation you've already had.

📆

Schedule disputes

Who has the kids this weekend? When did we agree on summer? Text threads and shared calendars not connected to the actual parenting plan create confusion that turns into conflict.

💸

Section 7 expense chaos

What qualifies? Who pays what percentage? Where's the receipt from six months ago? Without a structured system, legitimate expenses become arguments, and arguments become legal bills.

💬

Communication that escalates

Texts and emails that start about pickup times and end somewhere else entirely. No record, no tone control, no way to de-escalate once things go sideways.

📂

Documents scattered everywhere

The parenting plan is in an email. The separation agreement is in a PDF. The lawyer's notes are somewhere else. Nothing is connected to anything.

📊

No record of anything

When something goes wrong and you need to show a pattern, schedule violations, refused expenses, ignored communications, you're reconstructing it from memory and screenshots.

👶

Kids caught in the middle

When communication breaks down, kids pick it up. They hear the tension, feel the uncertainty, and learn that the two people they rely on most can't agree on the basics.

What we're building

Built around your parenting plan, not despite it.

📋

Your plan, built in

Import your FairWell parenting plan, or upload an existing one. The app knows your custody schedule, your decision-making rules, and your expense-sharing percentages. Everything else flows from that.

📅

Shared schedule, no ambiguity

A live custody calendar both parents see. Swap requests, holiday scheduling, and school events, all tracked, all visible, all logged. Not in a thread. In a calendar that knows the rules.

💰

Section 7 expense tracking

Submit, review, approve, and track extraordinary expenses. Receipts attached, percentages pre-calculated, approvals logged. Clear records for tax time, and for court, if it ever comes to that.

💬

Communication that stays on topic

A message log structured around co-parenting topics, not a general chat. Tone is calmer when the context is clear. And everything is logged in case you need it later.

📈

Records that speak for themselves

Every schedule change, every expense request, every communication, documented and exportable. If something ever goes back to court, you're not piecing it together from memory.

Why we're building this

The goal isn't to track your co-parent. It's to give you both a shared frame of reference so there's less to argue about.

Most co-parenting conflict isn't really about the conflict. It's about ambiguity, what the parenting plan actually says, who agreed to what, whether a request is legitimate. A system that answers those questions before the argument starts doesn't just save time. It changes the dynamic.

We've talked to hundreds of separated parents about what made co-parenting harder than it needed to be. The answer was almost always the same: the paperwork side was solved, but the coordination side was chaos. FairWell helps with the paperwork. This app is for what comes after.
