For family law firms

Every new client arrives with an organised file.

FairWell Firm Intake is a client intake form with your firm's name, colours and questions. Send the link to a new client. Before the first meeting you receive one tidy email: the facts, the numbers, the documents still missing and anything urgent, flagged at the top.

Founding price $199 a month per firm. First month free for founding firms.

What it is

Intake done before the first meeting.

An organised client file

Income, property, debts, pensions, parenting and goals arrive in sections and tables, with totals. Not scattered across emails, voicemails and sticky notes.

Your questions, your branding

Your firm name, logo and colour on every screen, with a small "Powered by FairWell". Choose the sections you need and add up to 10 questions of your own.

Less time spent on intake

Spend the first meeting on advice, not on collecting dates of birth and account balances. Clients answer at home, at their own pace, and can stop and come back.

How it works

Three steps, no new software for your team.

01

We set it up

Send us your logo, colour, the sections you want and your own questions. We build your form and send you a private link.

02

You send the link

Add it to your engagement email or booking confirmation. Answers save on the client's own device until they send, so they can take their time.

03

You receive the file

One organised email to your intake address. Safety concerns, deadlines, missing documents and disagreements sit at the top. The client can print or save a copy too.

What your firm receives

Read the flags first. Then the file.

Every intake arrives as a single email with the same structure, so your team knows where to look.

  • Flags to review first: safety concerns, court dates and urgent dates, documents not yet in hand, and where the clients disagree.
  • A quick snapshot: assets and debts listed, with totals, based on the client's own estimates.
  • Each section in order: contact details, relationship dates, children, income, support, property, debts, pensions, business, tax and goals, in tables where it helps.
  • Your own questions in their own section at the end.

The client's answers are their own and are not verified. Sections you switch off are not asked.

Built for a hard moment

Calm for clients. Careful with safety.

  • Safety screening in every form. Short questions about fear, violence, control and existing orders, with crisis resources for the client's country shown on the same screen.
  • Quick exit on every page. One click or Shift+Esc leaves the site.
  • Saved on the client's device only. Answers stay in the client's browser until they send, then are cleared. A clear button removes them at any time.
  • Plain language. Only name and email are required. Clients can skip anything they are unsure about.
  • No account for the client. A link is all they need.

Questions

Before you ask your privacy officer.

How is client information protected?

While a client fills in the form, answers are saved only in their own browser, never on FairWell's servers. When they send, the answers travel over an encrypted connection and are emailed to your intake address. FairWell keeps a delivery copy for no more than 90 days to confirm delivery and fix problems. FairWell does not keep a database of client answers, and does not use them for marketing.

Where does the data go?

To the intake email address you choose. If email delivery ever fails, the form stores the submission with FairWell's form provider instead and we forward it to you, and the client is told honestly what happened. FairWell uses service providers for hosting and email delivery, and some of them may process data outside Canada. We can walk your privacy officer through each provider on the demo call.

Can we customise the questions?

Yes. Choose any of 13 sections, such as children, parenting, income, support, property, debts, pensions, business, tax, documents and goals, and add up to 10 questions of your own: short or long text, a choice list, yes or no, a date or a number. Contact details and safety screening are always included.

Does FairWell give our clients legal advice?

No. FairWell is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. The form collects information for you. The client is told this before they send, and your firm remains their lawyer.

Is this a referral fee or lead fee?

No. It is a flat monthly software fee per firm. FairWell does not send you clients through Firm Intake, does not charge per client or per intake, and takes no share of your fees.

What do clients see?

Your firm's name, logo and colour, a short welcome message from you, and a small "Powered by FairWell". There is no FairWell sales content inside the form.
