This is a way to get to a fair agreement without each of you paying a lawyer to argue about the same facts.
What FairWell is
A document preparation service, not a law firm. It collects each of your terms, drafts a separation agreement in the format lawyers use, and flags anything you disagree on. A lawyer of your own choosing reviews it before you sign anything.
What you'll be asked
Your financial information, your view of how property and debt should be divided, and if you have children, your view of the parenting arrangement. The same questions your partner answered. It takes 30 to 60 minutes and you can stop and come back.
What you will and won't see
You will not see your partner's private answers, and they will not see yours. You will both see the draft agreement, with disputed items clearly marked. Neither of you can edit the other's inputs.
What it costs
The package is a flat fee, usually $999 for the complete package or $499 for the agreement alone. Your partner may have paid in full, or chosen to split it, in which case you'll be asked for your half before you start. There is no hourly billing.
You are not agreeing to anything
Entering your information is not consent to the terms. Nothing is binding until both of you sign a final agreement after independent legal advice. You can stop at any point.

Three things people in your position usually want to know
Do I need my own lawyer?
You should get independent legal advice before signing. FairWell can connect you with a lawyer in your province or state who will review the agreement at a flat fee, typically a one to two hour meeting because the draft is already complete. You choose the lawyer; your partner does not.
What if I disagree with what my partner wants?
That is expected. The draft marks each disputed item. You then resolve them directly, through a mediator, or through your lawyers. FairWell does not decide anything for you.
Can I do this on my phone, in pieces?
Yes. Progress saves as you go, and the Save my progress button gives you a private link to continue on any device.
